Custodia Continuity

Own Your Tools

Everything we build together belongs to you. No proprietary platforms, no vendor lock-in, no dependencies on us. Your solution, your code, your future.

The Ownership Problem

Most software relationships create dependency: your data is exportable, but your logic isn’t. Every line of code we write for you belongs to you from the moment it is written, and if you want to walk away tomorrow, you take everything with you.

What You Own

  • The source code: the complete codebase, written in standard, open languages any competent developer can read and maintain.
  • The infrastructure configuration: server setup, deployment scripts, environment configuration. Everything needed to run the system independently.
  • The documentation: architecture decisions, API references and operational procedures, written to be picked up by whoever maintains it next.
  • The data: your database, your schemas, your records. Exportable in standard formats at any time.
  • The intellectual property: we keep no rights to anything we build for you. It’s yours to keep.

No Lock-in to Custodia

We don’t create dependencies or build systems that only we can maintain.

If we stop being useful, you should be able to leave without losing anything. We see that as the thing that keeps the relationship honest.

No Lock-in to Any Platform

We build on standard programming languages, open-source databases and documented interfaces (APIs). That means we can swap a model for a better one, or move hosting if pricing changes, without anything being welded to a single vendor.

This is the opposite of the no-code trap, where your entire business logic is encoded inside a proprietary platform you cannot leave. Everything we write runs on standard infrastructure, so your code goes wherever you do.

Transition Support

If you decide to bring development in-house, we help you do it properly:

  • Full handover of all code, documentation and infrastructure
  • Knowledge transfer sessions with your team or your new developers
  • Help writing job descriptions and evaluating candidates if you are hiring
  • Overlap period where we work alongside your new team until they are confident

We don’t charge exit or handover fees. You built this with us to be able to run it without us, so when that day comes, it’s a good outcome for everyone.

Open Defaults

Unless there is a specific reason not to, we default to open. Open-source languages, open standards, open formats. Not because we are ideological about it, but because open technologies give you the most options and the least risk.

Because your code is written in standard languages and documented clearly, anyone competent can pick it up; you are never more than a job advert away from maintaining it yourself. That is what real ownership looks like.
